Brewster Lacrosse Jamboree

2020

To all Coaches, Schedulers and Directors

Brewster Lacrosse has decided to cancel our 2020 Jamborees.  We felt that it was prudent to make this decision now so that all stakeholders could adjust.  This includes our vendors so they do not over purchase and put their business in financial distress.

Our decision was based on a variety of factors.  It is difficult to control for the disruptions associated with teams or officials not attending. We are also not in the position to guarantee clean and sanitary facilities for thousands of attendees. Most importantly we will not put any child, adult or community to which they return to in jeopardy. Brewster Lacrosse will be following the CDC’s guidance of cancelling or postponing any event with more than 50 people.

Teams who have paid their entry fee have a choice to utilize those fees to secure a spot for next year’s event or receive a full refund.  The registration fee for our Jamboree has been the same for 6 years. Given that the cancelation of this event has a tremendous financial impact on our program, registration fees will likely increase next year.  Please let us know if you would like a refund by May 15 otherwise, we will carry your registration over to our 2021 events. Contact to request your refund.

I would also like to take this moment to announce my retirement from Brewster lacrosse. My involvement started when my daughter was in 3rd grade and now she is a senior in HS. I plan on following her next adventure playing all over the PAC-12 which will give me little time to put in to our organization as well as the Jamborees which I truly love. To say I will miss walking around the fields during those 2 weekends and seeing the kids enjoying the sport is an understatement. To the many friends I have made along the way I can't thank you enough for all the help and words of encouragement you have offered usually days away from draw/faceoff. I will end this part with the quote "it takes a village to raise a child" Always remember we are the village and we all have the ability to shape a child.

On behalf of all of us at Brewster Lacrosse I want to thank you for your understanding and continued support of our event.  We will return stronger as a community of like minded individuals who love our sport!
